German researchers and pracitioners in automotive industry have founded an association called "Initiative Wissenschaft und Automobilindustrie" (IWA). It is intended to strengthen cooperation between theory and practise by joint research projects, workshops, and consulting. |

At the University of Jena a workshop on assembly line balancing was held on 2007-10-29 and 2007-10-30. Talks (in German) were given from different perspectives by researchers and practitioners. About 100 students of Jena University attended the workshop. The interesting program included the following talks:
